The Infamous Masterson’s , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my latest trip at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I encountered behind its doors was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The Condition of the Premises : Squalid and Neglected
From the moment I crossed the threshold, it was evident that upkeep was not a priority at this venue. The surfaces were tacky , and a pungent odor of decaying beverages and filthy restrooms polluted the entire bar . Smelling a mixture of human waste, old age and sour vomit . The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The toilet was in even a truly awful state— spilling over , with a broken handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was human waste .
